About Beyond Layer 8
Beyond Layer 8 is a people-first IT consulting service focused on helping everyday users feel confident with technology. The name comes from the networking joke that the biggest computer problem exists beyond the seven layers of the OSI model — the human layer. Instead of blaming the user, we start there.
Our approach is guided by Christian principles: patience, honesty, and stewardship. Technology should serve people, not frustrate them, and everyone deserves clear answers without feeling talked down to.
We believe most technology problems aren’t just technical — they’re communication problems. Devices are designed by engineers but used by real people, and the gap between the two creates stress. Our role is to close that gap with understanding and clarity.
